Francesco Vasuri is a full-time pathologist currently working at the Pathology Unit of S.Orsola-Malpighi University Hospital in Bologna (Italy). His field of routine expertise involves liver, GI, vascular and urogenital pathology.
He earned his degree in Medicine and he completed the residency program in Pathology at the Bologna University, with studies focusing mainly on tumoral and non-tumoral liver biology and pathology. He completed a PhD program in Surgical Sciences at Bologna University, with a project on the biological mechanisms of neoangiogenesis and calcification in the human carotid atheromatous plaques. He has been investigator and co-investigator of projects focused on HCV-RNA tissue quantitation and correlations with hepatic damage, proteasome expression in the aging liver, roles of circulating and resident stem cells in vascular diseases, miRNA expression and neoangiogenetic mechanisms in primary liver tumors. He is author and co-author of a number of published papers and book chapters.
